BOTOX® and XEOMIN® are two injectable treatments that are commonly used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promoting smoother, younger looking skin. Years of repetitive muscle motions, such as frowning and smiling, cause wrinkles and lines to appear. These movements contribute to wrinkles because when your muscles contract, they cause the overlying skin to pull into folds. Both BOTOX® and XEOMIN® are treatments that are used to address facial wrinkles and creases that occur as a result of repeated expressions.
Botulinum toxin type A is present in both products. This neurotoxin relaxes targeted muscles at the injection site by inhibiting neuromuscular impulses. The fundamental distinction between XEOMIN® and BOTOX® is that XEOMIN® contains a "naked" form of botulinum toxin, whereas BOTOX® does not. This purified structure may aid in the prevention of antibody resistance, which has been observed with injections given over time.
The procedure only takes a few minutes and involves injections in specific areas of the face. With either product, there is no downtime. You can return to work and the rest of your day soon after your series of injections.
Ask the nurse at your consultation if you have any questions.
For Botox and Xeomin, expect results between 24-48 Hours with results lasting up to 4 months.
Some patients report a light pinch with Botox.
Botox injections take about 10 minutes.
Look Like Your Best Self
After treatment, you will look like yourself - only with fewer noticeable frown lines and crow's feet. You are in the capable and experienced hands of excellent nurses who are medical experts in facial anatomy and should not worry about losing the ability to show expression.
Return to Your Daily Routine
Treatments require minimal downtime or recovery. You will be able to return to your normal routine immediately after completing your treatment.
Common side effects such as headaches, minor pain, redness, and swelling at injection sites, and temporary numbness around injection sites are mild and should go away within a week.
There are some rare but potentially serious side effects such as difficulty breathing, swallowing, eating, or speaking. Anyone who experiences these side effects should seek emergency medical treatment.
These treatments aren’t recommended for use while you are pregnant or nursing.
People who are allergic to the protein albumin may also need to avoid XEOMIN® and BOTOX®. Both formulations contain human albumin as an inactive ingredient, and it may trigger a reaction in people who are allergic to albumin.
Tranquility is Wexford's Premier Medspa for Botox!
We are excited to announce the addition of a new treatment: Hyperhidrosis Armpit Botox. When injected into the underarm area, Botox helps to control excessive sweating by blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. The effects typically last six to nine months. Book your consultation with the link above.
Hyperhidrosis, or over-perspiration, is a condition where the body produces excessive sweat above and beyond the body's physiological needs.
You will be lying on a table and the underarm area will be numbed 15 minutes prior to treatment. A fine gauge needle will be use to administer the neuromodulator (Botox or Xeomin) into the area. Within two to four weeks there will be a significant reduction in the production of perspiration. This service takes 45 minutes and requires 100 units of the neuromodulator.
